Pret A Manger is a ‘fast food’ sandwich shop that makes their food from preservative-free ingredients. The sandwich shops started in London in 1986 and expanded to New York in the US in 2000. There are over 200 stores in London and 24 in New York, along with stores in Hong Kong, Washington D.C., and Chicago later this year. The company with its classic storefronts has started a sandwich frenzy for those lucky enough to have had the opportunity to enjoy the freshly made food!
The sandwiches are preservative free, artificial flavoring free, growth hormone free, and are freshly placed into a display case that is regularly replenished. As a customer you are able to retrieve the sandwich that meets your interest and pay. It is quick gourmet sandwiches at fast-food prices!
Downtown Bellevue could use a great sandwich shop like Pret A Manger. Unfortunately they have not plans to expand to the West Coast right now, but when they do we’ll be hungry and waiting!

@butterick…sorry to get your hopes up. Obviously you’ve had it before and know how good it is! Hopefully the small bit of attention might get some heads turning to Bellevue!? One can only hope.
Oh I love pret! Best place in the world. I would love it if it came to the Bravern ONLY! Have you ever been to pret in NYC?
@superbetch I first feel in love with Pret in Hong Kong, then followed up enjoying it London & New York! They don’t franchise or else I think I’d seriously take a look at opening one here 🙂
For a second, I thought the phrase “artificial flavoring free” was just “flavor-free.” The Egg Salad sandwich I had at Pret in London was the worst I’ve ever had.
Downtown Bellevue definitely needs a great sandwich shop. If Pret doesn’t franchise then a Capriotti’s would be great. Check out the article from Entrepreneur Mag:

You don’t have to travel far to find a great sandwich shop. The best sandwich/deli in the region is Goldberg’s in Factoria Mall.
If we could only convince them to open a branch in downtown!

Pret has the most amazing avocado, pine nut sandwich wrap! I’ve had 2 in Hong Kong and 1 in London. Yummm!! PRESERVATIVE FREE IS THE KEY.
Wow you had me going there for a second. I’m currently IN LONDOON and have to fight from going to PRET on a daily basis! LOVE THEIR SANDWICHES, and dont get me started on the Chocaolate Au Pain croissants! 😉
was just in manhattan this past weekend and walked by tons of pret a mangers! now why cant we bring it here? its VERY good and very quick! i love grabbing quick bites to eat in NY! you know bellevue can use a lot of the NY themed shops/delis. one day…
