In response to Seahawks Rookie Golden Tate caught trespassing at 3am on a Saturday morning in Top Pot Doughnuts, Top Pot has put a new marketing poster up in their window at their Bellevue shop.

The poster on the window states “Irresistible…BUT PLEASE WAIT UNTIL WE ARE OPEN.” It’s great to see that Top Pot has a sense of humor and is having some fun with the recent news.

  1. I actually just saw that on Saturday (too lazy to steal ’em at 3AM, so I’ll just have to buy them like everyone else.) No idea how long it’s been up there since I’m not usually in the area.

  2. I think it is terrible how they are turning a crime into a joke. Had it been someone not famous, there would have been charges filed. What kind of example does this set for kids? The message I get is that Top Pots doesn’t care so long as they make a profit from it. It isn’t the kind of place I want to do business.

  3. I think it’s hillarious and will find other things to take seriously. I’ll be first in line to buy a delicious golden “tate” maple bar to go with my coffee….

  4. John, since Top Pot was the “victim” of this crime, who are you to say they themselves can’t make light of it?

What kind of example does it give to kids that you seem to think the proper response to being a victim to a crime is moaning, whining, and outrage rather than making the most of the situation at hand, seizing opportunities when they present themselves, and most importantly, having a sense of humor about life in general.

  5. Thank you, ML. People like John give me a headache!

  6. Couldn’t agree with ML more…

  7. @john, I’m sure Top Pot would appreciate not having to serve a grumpy SOB. They took something negative, turned it into something positive and you’re comment just reversed that again. Shame on you.

  8. Of course they should not whine and be a victim. That was not my point. But for them to actually promote it as a joke only encourages other idiots to do the same. There are a lot of people who have no boundaries or sense of moral compass as long as it gets them on the news or in the papers. We’ll see how you feel when someone breaks into your home or business who isn’t famous.

  9. John, Lighten up. This have done a great deal of business for Top Pot and to think it “encourages other idiots to do the same.” is completely ridiculous.
