brave-movie bellevueThe Seattle-based Ben Towne Center for Childhood Cancer Research will host a private screening of the new Disney/Pixar movie “Brave” for 1,200 guests at 10 a.m. Saturday at Bellevue’s Lincoln Square Cinemas.

This second annual family event aims to raise awareness about the Ben Towne Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation, and give ill children and their families an opportunity to spend time together, according to a press statement.

In December 2008, 3-year-old Ben Towne passed away from neuroblastoma, a rare pediatric cancer. In 2010, his parents created the foundation to help find a cure for pediatric cancer.

Last year, the foundation hosted a private screening of “Cars 2” for 650 guests. This year’s event will double that number and help spread the word about the need for pediatric cancer funding and research.
