The Bellevue Downtown Association announced this week that Patrick Bannon will take over as the local non-profit organization’s new president on Jan. 2, 2013.

Bannon currently holds the position of vice president of communications and public affairs for the BDA. He will succeed Leslie Lloyd, who has accepted an executive director role with the Icicle Creek Center for the Arts in Leavenworth.

The BDA’s eight-member hiring committee conducted a two-month national search for a new president and selected Bannon from a pool of more than 50 applicants, according to a press statement.

Bannon joined the BDA in 2005 as a communications manager and has more than 17 years of organizational leadership and public affairs experience.
