The Low Income Housing Institute plans to break ground on the Bellevue Apartments this week.
The site is located at 204 111th Ave NE, near NE 2nd St, in downtown Bellevue.
The $16.6 million project will offer 57 residential units, ranging from studios to three-bedroom apartments. Rent is expected to cost from $320 to $1,260. Half of the apartments will be for people earning up to 30 percent of the median income for the area – $26,000 for a family of four – and half will be for people making up to 60 percent of the median income, according to the Puget Sound Business Journal.
The building will include a community room, a computer lab, and a children’s play area, as well as 23 underground parking stalls.
Not a big fan of letting the poors in. Keep these buildings in Renton.

That this can be done at all makes all the so called “luxury” apartments in Bellevue seem like a bit of a scam to me. I’m not really sure what they could leave out of my apartment (Elements) that would cut the price so steeply. Aside from the granite counter tops it pretty much just has the essentials.
