Bellevue police officers responded to a call for a suicidal individual that was hanging over the I-405 guardrail over the overpass. They were ultimately able to pull him from the railing. The rescue was captured on the traffic cameras and can be viewed below. The entire release from the Bellevue Police Department is below:

Today at approximately 3:02 p.m., Bellevue Police responded to the overpass of I-405 at NE 10th Street for a report of a suicidal individual hanging over a guardrail on the overpass. Officers arrived approximately one minute later and found the individual standing on the outside of the guardrail over the northbound lanes of I-405. Officers immediately began negotiating with the individual. The first Officer on scene, Lieutenant Dave Deffenbaugh, began talking to the individual. As Lieutenant Deffenbaugh was attempting to talk to the individual, Lieutenant Dave Sanabria arrived. Lieutenant Sanabria was able to approach the individual from his back side and pull him from the railing. The individual is currently being evaluated at Overlake Hospital in Bellevue.
