The South Bellevue Park-and-Ride on Bellevue Way will close on May 30, 2017. The Park-and-Ride will be closed for approximately five years in preparation for a larger garage being built. The future South Bellevue Station will include bus and paratransit transfer facilities and a 1,500-stall parking garage. To help ease the closure Sound Transit has opened five new leased park-and-ride lots, as well as expanded two lots with additional parking (although these lots are not on some the current route lines, such as the 550).

The I-90 Express lanes are planned to permanently close in June, which will have compounding effects for those that have been taking advantage of the South Bellevue Park-and-Ride.

The new garage is in preparation for Sound Transit East Link, which is anticipated to start service in 2023. For more information on the East Link Extension project visit the Sound Transit website.

  1. Very exciting to have a light rail train in Bellevue which is desperately needed!!! I just wish they could build faster. The progress is just too slow.
