Every July 4th, Bellevue Downtown Park does what a 21-acre lawn in the middle of a city was born to do: hold most of the Eastside on picnic blankets. The Bellevue Family 4th — co-produced by the City of Bellevue and presented by The Bellevue Collection — fills the park with live music, yard games, food vendors, and family activities from late afternoon on, and caps the night with the region’s best-produced fireworks show at 10:05 p.m., synchronized to live music over the downtown skyline.
The 2026 edition — marking America’s 250th — ran 5 to 10:30 p.m. with live music at the Amazon Entertainment Plaza, a scavenger hunt, and games across the east lawn. The 2027 event follows the same shape; the city typically announces full details in early summer, and we update this page as soon as they land.

Getting There
The city’s advice is blunt and correct: walk, bike, carpool, or take transit. The 2 Line drops you at Bellevue Downtown Station, a ten-minute walk from the park, and skips the post-fireworks garage exodus entirely — the single best reason to train in.
If You Drive
- The park’s own lots fill by afternoon — treat them as unavailable
- Bellevue Square garages are the closest large option; expect a slow exit after 10:30
- Parking farther east (City Hall area) trades a longer walk for a faster getaway
Claiming Your Spot
Blankets start landing on the great lawn in the afternoon; by early evening the prime center-lawn sightlines are taken. Arrive by 6 for a good spot, 7:30 for an acceptable one — or watch from the promenade’s edges with more elbow room.
Know the Rules
Personal fireworks are prohibited in Bellevue — the show is the show. Plan for a warm-day/cool-night layer situation, pack out what you pack in, and expect the surrounding streets to close to traffic around the fireworks window.

No — personal fireworks are prohibited in Bellevue, in the park and citywide. The professional show at 10:05 is the evening’s only pyrotechnics, and it’s a better one than anything you’d smuggle in anyway.
