New Target Bellevue Downtown Store

According to a City of Bellevue permit the Target Corporation has submitted an application to rezone property at 200 116th Ave NE (corner of 116th Ave NE and NE 4th St.) from General Commercial use to Community Business use.

According to the documents the Target retail store is planned to be 160,000 square feet and had an additional 214,000 square feet of parking.

If rezoning is approved the project is planned for construction as early as July 2014 and for an opening of October 2015. A public meeting to discuss the project will take place on April 24th at Bellevue City Hall at 6:30PM.

  1. Do we really need another big box store in Bellevue? Instead, we need more local businesses, not a Target (where our personal data isn’t safe anyway).

Lest we forget the mom and pop stores that have been closed due to Spring District and East Link (e.g. the eminent domain seizure of Christmas House, the Eastside Rentals complex on NE 8th and all the ancillary stores there).

  2. This is great news! Now if Trader Joes would would open a store closer to Downtown, Bellevue would have everything!

  3. This is great news! This is pretty much the only big box retailer that I’d welcome. Looking forward to this opening.

  4. Eastside Rentals wanted to close they were not forced.

  5. Good news. We need some competition for Amazon in downtown Bellevue, and Target’s about the only company capable of providing it (Fred Meyer and Walmart both have other stores too close to likely build another one here, but too far for downtown residents to easily use in substitution for Amazon).

  6. Target is great… at allowing customer data to be stolen.

  7. Um, that Facebook page confirms that they sold willingly. What are you reading from that?
