Construction has begun on Main Street in Bellevue for a complex that will include a ten story development. The building will be home to 65 housing units, 4,800 square feet of retail, and 130 parking spots.

It was only a matter of time before the previously run down strip mall boarding the entrance of the city of Medina was torn down. Old Bellevue, as it is known is becoming not only a ritzy shopping area, but now a neighborhood of classy low rise condominium & apartment housing.

  1. Those renters in the apartment behind that are losing their views will not be so happy. I am a bit suprised they are going with a 10 story, it will be the tallest on the strip. I think 6 or 7 would be a better fit for the hood.

  2. I agree too. I don’t know why city of bellevue actually approved the height in this case. I’d rather see taller buildings in the core part of the town, not on main street.

  3. Agreed, I wouldn’t be so happy if I lost my view. Having said that there was a building there before that blocked a majority of the residents view.

I wonder if the two buildings will have the same owner.

  4. Does anyone know the name of the building and/or the developer? Is a marketing website available? Thanks.

  5. Henry, thanks for the website! Looking forward for them posting some more information!

  6. hey, check out this apartment conversion just down the street from One Main Street: http://www.thevue-meydenbauer.com.

The building is old but you can’t beat the view and the location.

  7. Thanks Henry, I have checked out the site, and they have yet to provide much information about the conversion project.

I will add more details when found.

  8. Finally a building in a community, not the high-rise jungle of no-wheresville Bellevue. I love Main Street! Does anyone know timing? pricing? sizes?
