In celebration of Pride Month, the City of Bellevue and Pride Across the Bridge are partnering to present Pride on the Plaza, a free event highlighting local LGBTQIA+ artists and community members. The event will take place on Wednesday, June 4, from noon to 2 p.m. at Bellevue City Hall.

The event will begin with a pride flag raising ceremony and remarks from city officials emphasizing Bellevue’s commitment to diversity and inclusion. Edgar Longoria, executive director of Entre Hermanos, will deliver the keynote address.

Attendees can enjoy theatrical performances, music from a live DJ, and light refreshments. Resource tables will also be available, providing information and support for the LGBTQIA+ community.

Pride Across the Bridge executive director Axton Burton stated that the event aims to foster visibility and connection for LGBTQIA+ residents, workers, and visitors on the Eastside.

Mayor Lynne Robinson reaffirmed the city’s dedication to creating a welcoming environment, highlighting the importance of community events in promoting understanding and celebration of Bellevue’s diverse population.

Additionally, the City of Bellevue and the Bellevue Downtown Association will display Pride banners along the Grand Connection route throughout June. The Bellevue Downtown Association will also host the Paws and Pride Dog Walk at Downtown Park on Saturday, May 31.
