Main Street Bellevue VacanciesMain Street has a handful of commercial real estate vacancies that are open to fill. Posh On Main, Christi’s On Main, Salute, Refined Woodworks Inc., and Ambiente Spa are all businesses that have recently left Main Street, leaving opportunities for new tenants. In addition to these existing locations, One Main Street has a few available retail locations as well that haven’t been occupied.

What is missing on Main Street – More clothing and other retail boutiques, restaurant and bars, or other service-oriented stores?

520 Bar & Grill will celebrate their 4th anniversary in May. In the time that they have been open Bis On Main, Monsoon East, and the Spot Off Main have all opened up bars which seem to be successful in their own ways. Owners of 520 Bar & Grill, Randi and Joe Brazen, are also the owners of the open space next to their restaurant on Main Street. They are currently contemplating what would be a good fit there to add value to Main Street.

Tell the owners of these spaces who they should be recruiting. What types of companies you would like to see occupy these empty retail spaces? Sound off in the comments section.

  1. I think someone should open up an independent late-night coffee house and ice cream parlor there. We’re always looking for a place to go to grab coffee or dessert after 10pm that’s not a bar or chain restaurant!

  2. Molly Moo should open up in Downtown Bellevue. This would be a perfect match!

  3. Ditto what Lea and Michael said! We’re always looking for evening dessert places. Oh, for a diner with homemade pies and ice cream…

  4. I agree with Lea and Christina – a late night coffee shop (with good wireless and meeting space) would do very well. A diner like back East with reasonable prices would probably be a hit too.

If I was one of the owners of commercial property on Main Street (or anywhere else), I’d probably go after anyone who could pay their rent – and on Main Street they should probably be looking for businesses that don’t need a lot of parking or walk-by traffic …

  5. I hear a rumor that the old Christi’s on Main is being occupied by Ginza – they’re expanding into it. Anyone else heard that?

  6. Yes I agree with Lea, Christina, and Joe. I hope they do!!! I don’t want to be driving to Kirkland 24 hr Starbucks in the middle of the night for coffee.. a waste of gas & time… 🙁

  7. I walk to Main st a few times a week, and I definitely want to be able find a spot where you can sit down, have a drink, and even have a quick bite. We don’t need boutique clothing stores, nor do we need super expensive bistros. What we need is affordable eateries where ordinary people can enjoy some real food or drinks, not just the super rich.

  9. Frozen Yogurt and Ice Cream Shop. A destination, like the old Dairy Queen. It would bring people downtown. Kind of like Lahaina ice cream goers.
A place to gather and have coffee other then the pastry shop and T’latte.
A place that sells food for take out – that is affordable – other then the mexican restaurant but the same price point.
A place that sells random teenage stuff (cool tshirts, dvds, spencer gifts meets Zumiez and Fuego) – that the high schoolers could go to and their parents could buy them gifts.
Wood burning pizza place. The same type of pizza that people line up for outside at the farmers market on Bellevue Way.

  10. A parking garage?
