The grand opening of the new Bellevue Uwajimaya will take place on Friday, March 25th at 11:00 AM.
The announcement of the new Bellevue Uwajimaya came in November of 2010. The new location is 35,000 square feet and was previously occupied by Larry’s Market and more recently, GI Joe’s.

No, it won’t have a food court but it will have a full deli like downtown with seating.
Great! Now if the city could only extend NE 4th over to the area, it could be a walking distance store to downtown residents.
The rockin’ grandma at the deli counter was shocked at how busy it was today.
I was there on Satruday around lunch time, and, while the parking lot was basically completely full, the store felt less crowded than the older location had ever felt.
I was coming from Moghul Palace, where I had just stuffed myself on Indian food, so I didn’t get to buy too much, but the checkout lines were fast, and everything seemed to be going smoothly.
I’ll have to go again during the week, and spend more time browsing…
LD most won’t walk that far plus up and down two serious hills for groceries, but maybe a few near 405 will.
Anyways went there for lunch and the hot food bar was fantastic. I may never be able to eat the safeway asian food again… 🙂
