The Bellevue Arts Museum will offer an evening of music, performance art, and interactive experiences at its new rooftop sculpture garden this month.
“BAMignite: Funk Out!” runs from 8-11 p.m. Friday, Aug. 17. The dress code is simple: bold colors.
The event includes funk, soul, hip-hop, and world music by KEXP DJs Darek Mazzone & Chilly, as well as live music by Seattle’s funk and soul collective Marmalade.
Guests can enjoy contemporary African dance and percussion by Gansango, and spoken word performances by Marita Isabel & okanomodé. Seattle’s creative agency I Want You will feature an interactive audio-visual experience, dubbed “Shapes & Movements,” during the event.
Tickets cost $10 in advance or $12 at the door.
