The retailor Anthropologie will be moving into Bellevue Square at The Bellevue Collection according to permit records, as well as representatives from Anthropologie. They will be moving from their current location at The Bravern.

According to a store representative the opening is slated for November 2013. The store is planned for the current Coldwater Creek location on the first floor.

  1. The Bravern is going to be even more of a ghost town now. That was the last of the “affordable” options left there. It’s a great move for them, they will have a lot more traffic at Bell Square.

  2. Wasn’t there a rumor that H&M was going to open at the Coldwater Creek location?

I think the Bravern is in deep trouble. I don’t see how they can make a compelling pitch to any retailer to take space in their complex instead of at the mall. With Kemper’s upcoming expansion projects bringing more top tier retail space, the Bravern is going to struggle to hang on to their current retailers and to bring in new ones.

  3. I wonder if Neiman’s will relocate? There is no way they can survive at the Bravern and it would be a shame if they once again close in the northwest. I do think that they need better product variety though. Their stores in Texas have so much more merchandise, though it’s probably because its their home state.

  4. Smart move! The Bravern is a disaster. The Neimans isn’t even a shadow of it’s other locations.
Terrible “open-air” concept (this is Seattle!!), awful parking system, weak stores with weak selections. The Bravern is a ghost town, with what looks and feels like 2/3 vacancy.
When Bellevue Square finishes it’s new luxury wing on the old Safeway/JCPenny parking lot….the Bravern needs to give up.

wonder what they could do with the Bravern?

    Wal-Mart?

    Bungie Studios?

  6. Jesus… reading this comment thread is like a competition for “who can be the most passive aggressive A-hole Seattle is famous for”.

Do we people in Bellevue not deserve more than one shopping center?

I hope both BellSquare and Bravern can be smashing successes, though the open-air design really needs to be (expensively) fixed.

  7. I don’t think open air is such a bad thing. The U Village mall is fabulous and I consider that to be the best mall in the region. I feel what the Bravern is lacking is enough stores to draw a critical mass of shoppers – and I don’t want to go where it feels like a ghost town (setting up a +ve feedback loop). In fact it is not open enough to feel different from Bel Square. It would have been great if another mall went up in the lot just west of it, unfortunately that’s going to be an office tower. Considering all the office towers surrounding it, it should just switch to be a premier restaurant/night life district. Finding your car in that god awefull parking flustercuck should eliminate any DUIs.

@kevin: chill man! (another passive aggressive statement just for you) 🙂
