Two 43-story residential towers are being proposed at the corner of NE 8th St and 108th Ave NE in downtown Bellevue where First Congregational Church currently occupies.
According to multiple reports the early stages of the project include the exploration of incorporating a hotel, luxury apartments and “sky-high” condominiums. The reports state that the towers could house as many as 1,000 residential units. According to SDJC, the Hong Kong-based Plus Investment USA is planning to submit permits for the project within 90 days.
The project is expected to start constriction by early 2016.
What about parking for those 1000 new residents?
Think of how much worse traffic in Bellevue will be after adding yet another 1,000 homes in downtown…yikes! I’m glad I moved away from there 9 years ago to Newcastle.

We don’t want 43-story towers in downtown Bellevue. They belong in Seattle, not Bellevue, where the tallest tower is no more than ~30 stories.
This is inconsistent with the character of Bellevue.
Lincoln Tower has 41 floors and Bellevue Towers have 42 & 43… This will be a great project for Bellevue and could vitalize DT.
This is a good project.
We need more people LIVING in downtown Bellevue, not just commuting to it. Most Bellevue streets are empty on the weekends except for cars driving to and from the Mall.

I really like seeing new projects like this in the pipeline. Clearly developers have been scared to build condos, but I believe there is a lot of pent-up demand.
Alas, few of the commuters can afford to live in downtown Bellevue–that’s why they commute.
