As commercial office space has dramatically increased over the recent years in downtown Bellevue and more businesses of all sizes have decided to call Bellevue home, the infrastructure of coworking spaces have not similarly grown at the same rate in downtown Bellevue. In fact there aren’t any coworking spaces in downtown Bellevue. The closest is Impact Hub Bellevue on 116th Ave NE, which has its days numbered due to a new construction project that will take the place of it.
As we look across the lake to Seattle there are around 30 coworking spaces. One of the international leaders in coworking spaces, WeWork has opened three locations in Seattle since 2014. WeWork has several amenities such as open meeting and workspaces, modern and fun furniture, food and beverages, which attract entrepreneurs as well as companies that want to host events locally.
Coworking spaces allow for small companies or individuals to rent workspaces at a fraction of the cost of a larger dedicated workspace. The coworking spaces also act as a strong community for smaller startup organizations to network with one another.
Seattle has a handful of coworking facilities that are great examples of first class coworking spaces: WeWork, Galvanize, Makers, and Coterie to name a few. These spaces would create the opportunity to attract top entrepreneurs to start and continue their businesses in Bellevue.
Our message to coworking space companies is simple: please bring your innovative spaces to Bellevue, we welcome your arrival.
