Goodbye summer, hello holiday season. ’Tis the time of year for celebrations and new beginnings. At The Bellevue Collection, experience both Diwali, a time to welcome a new year, happiness, and prosperity, and the spooky, family-friendly event that is Halloween.
Similar to a new year celebration, Diwali is one of India’s most popular holidays and is recognized by people from multiple faiths. Diwali traditionally takes place over the span of five days, and celebrations include family gatherings, lighting clay lamps, displaying floral décor, sharing sweets, and worshiping the Goddess of Wealth to bring blessings for the New Year.
From now through October 25th, The Bellevue Collection is featuring activities and displays for guests to enjoy at Bellevue Square. The displays include Rangoli, made from flower petals and sand, and Saris, a traditional garment worn in India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Nepal. There are interactive celebrations at Bellevue Square Center Court with a Diwali backdrop and create your own display of light, plus a lantern craft, which can be picked up at Guest Services in Center Court to create a lantern at home with the kids.
On Saturday, October 22nd, Bellevue Square will be hosting live performances at Center Court. Celebrate the Festival of Lights by watching cultural Indian performances including dance, visual arts, and music. There will also be complimentary Henna that an artist from SARAHENNA Organic Body Art will apply.
From October 26th through October 31st, stop by Bellevue Square’s Guest Services to pick up a coloring tote with candy and toy inside (one per child present, while supplies last).
There will also be fun fall photo sets and an interactive haunted graveyard in Center Court to snap a picture while shopping around. The photo sets include a pumpkin patch, spooky cemetery, witch’s den, and haystacks and pumpkins.
A printable trick or treat coloring sheet and monster activity sheet are both available on The Bellevue Collection’s website.
Take advantage of the many ways that The Collection helps you to enjoy the holiday season. Whether you’re celebrating Halloween, Diwali or wanting to indulge in different dining and shopping options, The Collection is your one-stop-shop.
