1200 Bellevue Way in Downtown Bellevue.
49 red-brick townhomes at Bellevue Way NE and NE 12th Street — two- and three-bedroom homes of 1,575 to 2,200 square feet with no neighbors above or below, on the north edge of downtown across from the Bellevue North shopping center.
1200 Bellevue Way is the townhome answer to downtown Bellevue’s condo towers: 49 red-brick homes on three stories at the corner of Bellevue Way NE and NE 12th Street, the north edge of downtown, about four blocks up from Bellevue Square. When the project was nearing completion in July 2007 the Seattle Times singled it out for exactly that contrast, and DBN’s report at the time put the homes at 1,575 to 2,200 square feet with no neighbors above or below — owning a house in the middle of downtown was the pitch, with prices starting at $735,000 and topping out around $1 million. The two- and three-bedroom plans carry granite slab counters, hardwood floors and two-sided gas fireplaces, and every home has at least two stalls in the underground garage. Freiheit Architecture designed it.
The story of this address for the next decade is across the street. The Bellevue North shopping center at 1000 to 1100 Bellevue Way NE — Panera Bread, BevMo!, The UPS Store, Domino’s, Snapdoodle Toys — is a 4.22-acre block of single-story retail from the 1970s and 1980s that Wallace Properties won Master Development Plan approval to replace in March 2026: four mixed-use buildings in two phases, roughly 900 apartments and more than 40,000 square feet of retail, on a 10-year timeline. As of September 2026 the East Phase, 445 apartments in two mid-rises at 1111 106th Ave NE and 10575 NE 12th Street, is under city review with construction scheduled to start April 1, 2028, and the West Phase on Bellevue Way is expected to be reworked as a roughly 520,000-square-foot senior housing project. Years of construction, then a much denser neighbor.
Against the towers — One Lincoln Tower down Bellevue Way, Washington Square’s own townhome row on NE 9th Place — 1200 Bellevue Way is for buyers who want bedrooms, a front door and a two-car garage more than a view. See how it compares in our guide to every downtown Bellevue condo building.

What It’s Like
This is the residential north end of Bellevue Way, above the Collection’s traffic, and the homes are built for people who want a house-shaped life downtown: homes on three levels, a garage, a front door, no one overhead. The trade is the view and the tower amenities. The bigger factor for the next decade is across the street: Bellevue North’s East Phase is scheduled to start construction in April 2028 and the master plan carries a 10-year window, so buyers should price in construction on the block and, at the end of it, roughly 900 new apartment neighbors and 40,000 square feet of new retail.
What’s Nearby
Bellevue Way does the rest: Black Bottle is two blocks south at 919 Bellevue Way NE, 13 Coins is at Bellevue Place, three blocks south, or Hyatt Regency Bellevue is in the same complex for visiting family.
Good to Know
The developer is unresolved: Westward Development Group lists the 49 townhomes in its portfolio, while DBN’s 2007 report and Bellevue.com credited The Dwelling Company; DBN names only the architect, Freiheit Architecture, until the recorded declaration settles it. Completion is 2007 by DBN’s own 2007 report and NWMLS records, not the 2008 the old page carried. Some homes are addressed 10575 NE 12th Place — not to be confused with 10575 NE 12th Street, a parcel in the Bellevue North East Phase across the way. There is no HOA website; listings and your agent are the source for dues, rental rules and pet policy.
