The Peruvian restaurant, La Mar, has announced the opening of its new Bellevue location at 10508 Main Street, set to launch on Monday, October 14. The restaurant’s reservations are now available through their website, lamarbellevue.com.

The new restaurant will occupy a 10,000 square-foot space within the West Main building, an Amazon-leased office development. This area, designed by Graphite Design Group and Compton Design Office for Vulcan Real Estate, features a mix of office and retail spaces.

Amazon has fully leased West Main and recently moved into its first tower, Dynamo. La Mar is a notable addition to the building, being only the third U.S. location for the restaurant.

Founder Gastón Acurio emphasized the global nature of Peruvian cuisine, noting that it blends influences from various cultures. He expressed pride in bringing La Mar’s Peruvian seafood and vibrant culinary heritage to Bellevue, a city known for its diverse food scene.

The Bellevue location will offer both indoor and outdoor seating, including a terrace, ceviche bar, and open kitchen concept. The restaurant will feature a seafood display and artwork from local Peruvian artists.

The menu will showcase traditional Peruvian dishes with influences from Japanese, Chinese, Spanish, Italian, and Andean cuisines. Highlights include classic cebiches and tiraditos, with unique dishes such as cebiche nikkei and tiradito bachiche crafted by Executive Chef Kaoru Chang.

As a third-generation Nikkei [Peruvian of Japanese heritage], I look forward to sharing the exceptional diversity of my country’s traditional cuisine, which has been shaped by Incan, Spanish, Chinese and Japanese traditions over many centuries,” said Kaoru Chang, executive chef of La Mar Bellevue. “La Mar’s menu will reflect the global influence and melting pot of flavors in Peru, while also incorporating elements of the bounty found right here in the Pacific Northwest.”

The drink menu will highlight both local and Peruvian ingredients, emphasizing pisco, Peru’s signature spirit. A diverse range of Pisco Sours will be available, including the Rainier Sour, specially crafted for La Mar Bellevue to showcase the distinctive flavors of the Pacific Northwest, featuring Brovo’s Douglas Fir Liqueur from a local distillery. In addition to local beers and wines, there will be a large selection of craft cocktails.

The restaurant’s hours are as follows: Lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Thursday through Friday, and from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Dinner service runs from 5:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. The lounge will be open daily from 3:00 p.m. until closing.
