On Monday, the Bellevue City Council voted unanimously to approve an agreement with Sound Transit that will begin the East Link light rail project in early 2016.
The agreement Bellevue and Sound Transit, amends a 2011 agreement, between the two agencies, to guarantee that the East Link light rail connection meets the needs of Bellevue and the region by minimizing construction impact and incorporating the city’s Bel-Red plan.
The Sound Transit Board is expected to vote on the new agreement at its April 23 meeting. Detailed East Link light rail project information may be found at the city’s Light Rail webpage: http://www.ci.bellevue.wa.us/light-rail.htm
