President George W. Bush will attend a fundraiser in Downtown Bellevue for Dave Reichert’s 2008 re-election campaign on August 27th later this month.
The Seattle PI reports that there will be a $10,000-per-person “VIP reception” and $1,000 general reception at the Hyatt Regency hotel in Bellevue.
Not much more detail into the event of President Bush’s whereabouts will be detailed until the event is closer.
One key word for all of us who work in the CBD…traffic…or maybe the grown-up version –> gridlock.
He’s got guts showing up in a Seattle burb…maybe he will send some pork our way…
Does anyone know how one get tickets to the general reception? Thanks.
As someone who works in Bellevue Place, I can easily say I should take the day off.
If you haven’t already, check out the Bellevue real-time traffic map and traffic snapshots. May be able to help you avoid the traffic in downtown Bellevue or at least you’ll know what you are driving into!
Yes! There is a permanent link to the live traffic on the “Bellevue Resources” sidebar!
He is a world-class criminal. I can’t wait to thank him for all the good work.
Expect lots of police and protest-prevention… the king don’t like the free speech so much.
I’ll bet he doesn’t even show his face outside. He’ll just slither in through parking garage… like a varmint would.

The Bush Administration has put our system of Democracy at risk. Americans want impeachment to restore the rule of law and stop abuses of power by the Executive. After five years of State of Emergency, the Patriot Act, The Military Commissions Act, and continual War and occupations, our Constitutional republic is at the breaking point. Impeachment is the remedy. Citizens demand that HRes. 333, Articles of Impeachment for Dick Cheney, be cosigned by our Representatives to Congress now.
The movement to impeach is a nonpartisan effort to restore the rule of law. The American people will not tolerate being spied upon, lying to justify war, torture, and extraordinary rendition. No President is above the law! We need to act now before President Bush chokes the life out of our Democracy. We must stop Bush and Cheney before they launch another war of aggression in Iran.
Americans will not tolerate an illegal “Unitary Presidency.” Americans are outraged by Bush’s outright subversion of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.
Expect to see the Chain Gang, a contingent I Miss America beauty queens, a mass die in, Raging Grannies, and citizens wearing Guantanamo orange to protest torture and call for impeachment now. Citizens of Washington State say enough is enough. Bush, you’re fired.
