The developer is planning on releasing no more than 20 homes for presale, leaving the balance to sell upon completion two years from now. This property is being compared to Bella Mira on Lake Sammamish waterfront, which sold out averaging more than $1.5 million per home.
Adorned with full brick, natural stone, and oversized windows, the elegant, refined design of The Essex on the Park is inspired by New York brownstones.
This looks really amazing, it’s a shame I don’t have a few million bucks to spare…
Isn’t it right next to an apartment building and the McKee condo?
I believe that this is the site of the dentist / bead shop.
Nowhere in Bellevue are condominiums this close! The view for those living on the east side of the McKee will vanish. This is a beautiful building, on a far too tiny lot. What are the city planners thinking of??
No doubt these units will be desirable despite the small footprint. There’s still another more desirable property along the park that is ripe for development. But, it’s owners aren’t selling for yet.
Regarding the city planners and “thinking,” the DT Bellevue code is written in such a way that decisions are almost completely decretionary. Fueling the decisions, most campaign contributions are made by developers for city council seats – the “rule” makers. And, their planners have randomly interpreted the rules/code for years. The so-called wedding cake plan has tumors! Planners provide a “bonus” to almost every development that exceeds the building “maximum” height eluded to in the code. “Maximum” is now “Basic,” due to random interpretation and favourtism. Tomato, pa’tato, if you get my drift…
