The highly anticipated Purple Café and Wine Bar, located at Bellevue Towers in Downtown Bellevue, has taken the plastic down from its windows and revealed their opening date of October 6th!  The 6,200 square-foot restaurant will be Purple Cafe’s 4th restaurant, with other locations in Woodinville, Kirkland, and Seattle.

The opening date, which is almost a year later than the initial November 2008 projected timeline, comes during a time when several other restaurants have recently opened or will open before the end of the year.  Most notable are the restaurants at The Bravern that opened at the beginning of September.  Also still to open at The Bellevue Collection is Earl’s, which is slated to open at the end of October or beginning of November.

Purple Café and Wine Bar, offering 70 wines by the glass, will be located next to its sister company Barrio, which will be open as of Tuesday, September 22nd. In total, Heavy Restaurant Group – which manages and owns both Barrio and Purple Café, will occupy 16,000 square feet (about three fourths) of Bellevue Towers’ retail space.  A third and new restaurant concept that will likely not open until next year is also expected from Heavy Restaurant Group.
