Café & Wine Bar to Open at Belcarra in Bellevue

A new café and wine bar is planned to open in July of this summer at the base of the Belcarra apartment building at 1032 Ave. It will go by the name of Via Vita Café and Wine Bar and will be inspired by its owner’s travels in Europe.

The café will be designed to serve customers throughout the day, offering espresso, pastries, Panini, baguettes, soup, salad, gelato, tapas, and wine.

The space includes an outdoor patio and tall windows, making for a perfect location for community members of the surrounding apartments and condos to congregate.

  1. Interesting, another restaurant. It amazes me how many there are in DT Bellevue now. I love all the choices, hope this place has good tapas, I love tapas!

  2. Another exciting offering in the Ashwood Arts District, which already has Open Satellite,Elements and the Library! If the 1020 Theatre and PACE are eventually built, this will be the best area of Bellevue to see and be seen in!

  3. We’re all very excited about this… a great additional place for our residents to get to know each other…

  4. With all these openings no one mentioned that the check cashing place closed down

  5. Sounds nice! It will be on a somewhat quieter (for downtown) intersection and could be a good place to sit outside and enjoy some tapas. Tapas= always a good thing, let’s hope they go the classic route and don’t go all funky-fusion.

  6. I think Belcarra’s architect really did a great job, the ground level retail shops look promising with huge tall windows. As someone who lives around the area, I hope there will be more restaurants & bakeries opening soon!

  7. I think that will be great to have a place like this to sit outside and enjoy some Tapas. I like sitting outside Top Pot but I can only eat donuts every so often.

Speaking of the closing of the check cashing place that Nick mentioned… I thought Washington Square had plans to develop that area? Are they just waiting for financing or did those plans fizzle?

  8. GIANT POODLE!

  9. This should be interesting since Grand Cru is located one block east at the base of Ten20 Tower. It’s a wine bar and bistro. They even have their own separate wine store. Though I love all the restaurants, I hope that we don’t saturate the neighborhood. I’d like a bit more variety, but I do also recognize that LIQUOR of any type SELLS. Not complaining of a new place, just noticing the similarity. What I’d love to see is a small local food mart where we can grab small groceries without having to go hit one of the big grocery store. You know – “a corner store”. 🙂

  10. I totally agree with you Ten20Boy. They really need a “corner store” in the ashwood district. It would most likely increase foot traffic in the area as well.

  11. I drove by the apartment the other day and I spotted two shops doing renovation there.

One is at the corner of NE 10th and 106th Ave, right next to the apartment entrance; the other is on 106th Ave, next to the condo beside it.

Any nice people could find out which two are they? =) Is one of them the cafe mentioned here?
