The design for Soma Towers, a new 2-building development in downtown Bellevue, was approved last week, according to an article in the Bellevue Reporter.
The new high-rise is planned to offer mixed-use retail, restaurants, and 266 residential units, including 34 affordable housing units. The 21- and 18-story towers, connected by a 3-story podium, will present a window-filled, curved exterior at the corner of 106th Ave. NE and Northeast Second Street, according to the article. The property will also include a 5-story underground parking lot.
Su Development must apply for the necessary permits before construction can begin, and the permit process can take 4 to 8 months. Construction for the first tower was scheduled to begin this year, according to the article.
Isn’t there supposed to be a Koi Restaurant opening there soon?
Doesn’t Bellevue have TONS of new homes/condos that are not yet occupied? Good luck.
Nice… Su Development’s apartments all have interesting designs. Much better than all the cookie cutters around the region.
@Tanya All of Bellevue’s highrise apartments are renting quite well I think.
I just bypassed the area today and Lawrence above is correct – there are new posters about an opening-soon Cantonese restaurant on the site lol.
Care to find out what’s happening for us, Bellevue bloggers?
@Kevin Yes, we are keeping tabs on the restaurant and will let you know when we have more information on it.
I just walked by this place and saw two ‘Proposed Land Use Action’ signs announcing the building of two residential towers. One sign is on NE 2nd St. right in front of the future Koi Restaurant, and the other is on 106th Ave, in front of the strip mall where Christian Science Reading Room used to be.
