Moksha, a new family-owned restaurant featuring Karaikudi-style Indian cuisine, will open Monday, Sept. 24, at Bellevue Square.
The menu offers both meat and vegetarian dishes from northern and southern regions of India. Moksha’s signature dish, Karaikudi curry, combines stir-fried lamb or vegetables with onion, garlic, tomato, black pepper, curry leaf, red chile, and fennel.
Moksha is Lakshmi Thanu’s second restaurant in the region. He opened Spice Route restaurant in Bellevue’s Crossroads area in 2006.
Moksha is a street front restaurant located on Bellevue Way, between Boom Noodle and PF Chang’s China Bistro. For reservations, call (425) 427-5787.
This place is a hit! My husband and I ate here on Friday night, 9/21, for their soft launch. At first I was a bit put off by the seemingly high prices, but the value is all there in the quality and amazing flavor of the food. My husband had the coconut tomato soup and chicken curry, and I had a vegetarian paneer dish that was very similar to paneer butter masala (my all-time favorite Indian dish), accompanied by a mango lassi. We loved everything, and look forward to dining here again soon.
What kind of prices are we looking at, Anji?
Wait… What happened to Anji’s answer?
That’s strange; my follow-up comment seems to have been deleted. Well, you can see my full review on Yelp, which builds on my above review. Here’s Moksha’s URL: http://mokshadining.com; not sure why it wasn’t included in the article. They have their full menu up on the site now.
