The Bellevue Botanical Garden’s new visitor center will open on Saturday, June 14, in Bellevue.
The 8,500 square-foot building, designed by Olson Kundig Architects, opens to the surrounding gardens. The new visitor center features a covered outdoor orientation area, gift shop, meeting and classroom space, offices, and restrooms.
In celebration of the garden’s expansion, visitors can enjoy a ceremonial tree planting, docent-led tours, and performances by the Sammamish Youth Chamber Orchestra on June 14-15. The Saturday opening ceremony begins at 10 a.m.
The Bellevue Botanical Garden also recently expanded its parking lot and added several new gardens: The Sun Courtyard, Spring Court, and Iris Rain Garden.
The garden is open daily from dawn to dusk and admission is free. The visitor center’s hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
