The Bellevue Collection, in Bellevue, is bringing one of the hottest retailers to Bellevue Square this fall, at the former J.C. Penney store. Zara will occupy 26,000 sq. ft., in a one-level store featuring apparel for women, men and children.
Founded in Spain, Zara has over 2,000 stores strategically located in leading cities across 88 countries. The retailer has reset the boundaries for what shoppers expect from a high end clothing store. This includes the implementation of a digital mirror that allows shoppers to try clothes without actually taking them off the shelf.
“Bellevue Square is a perfect match with the Zara customer and we are delighted that the Bellevue and entire Eastside community is among such prestigious metropolitan cities from around the country that will welcome their new store,” says Kemper Freeman, Chairman and CEO of Kemper Development Company.
The addition of Zara is a major coup in the overall expansion plans for the South Common area of Bellevue Square. In April, Uniqlo announced its retail location in the same area and additional retailers are in various stages of negotiations to complete the leasing of the new space.
A precise open date for Zara will be announced before the coming fall fashion season.
