A new shopping center is set for Northeast Fourth Street and 116th Avenue Northeast in Bellevue. The nearly 75,000 square foot space will include REI, Trader Joe’s and a HomeGoods furnishing store according to lease agreements filed with King County. A two story garage will offer 309 parking spaces.
Developer KG Investment Management’s design for construction of the shopping complex has been approved by the city and a building permit is being processed.
The Bellevue city council set the way for the project by modifying its land use code to allow larger structures in the Wilburton area and rezoning Bellevue 116th parcels along 116th. Curiously, this modification was allowed when Target had plans to construct a new three-story store. At the last minute, Target shelved the project.
This was first reported by the Bellevue Reporter.
