The PSA World Tour Finals is returning to the United States after a decade-long hiatus, with Bellevue, Washington hosting the season’s ending tournament from June 18-22, 2024. It will take place at the Boys and Girls Club Hidden Valley Field House, according to a news release.
As the final stage of the 2023-24 season, the PSA World Tour Finals will feature both men’s and women’s tournaments, each featuring a field of eight players. Among them will be Platinum title victors and PSA World Champions. Additional slots will be filled by the highest-ranked players on the PSA World Tour Finals Leaderboard, determined by accumulated points from events throughout the season.
The tournament format will begin with a round-robin stage, using a best-of-three games structure, with the top two contenders from each group advancing to the knockout semi-finals. The finals will revert to the traditional best-of-five games format typical of most PSA World Tour events.
Bellevue’s selection as the host city marks a significant moment, as it becomes the first US city to stage the PSA World Tour Finals since Richmond, Virginia, in 2014. Bellevue previously hosted the men’s 2015 PSA World Championships.
“We’re excited to bring the PSA World Tour Finals back to the United States for the first time in 10 years and I’m sure the event will provide a fitting spectacle to close out what has been an enthralling season on the PSA World Tour,” said PSA Chief Executive Alex Gough.
Gough also highlighted the growth of squash in the United States over the past decade, noting the country’s increased prominence in hosting major squash events. He also acknowledged the debut of squash at the Olympic Games in Los Angeles in 2028.
Only two spots in both the men’s and women’s PSA World Tour Finals draws have been decided, with Egyptian trio Ali Farag, Nour El Sherbini and Hania El Hammamy guaranteed their spots in Bellevue alongside New Zealand’s Paul Coll following their Platinum title wins earlier this season.
