The City of Bellevue is launching a food truck program at City Hall Plaza that is going on now through August 29th. From Visitors can enjoy a rotating selection of 11 food trucks offering diverse cuisines every Tuesday and Thursday, between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Partnering with the Washington State Food Truck Association, representing food trucks across Puget Sound, the city aims to invigorate downtown Bellevue by piloting this initiative at City Hall Plaza. The city plans to introduce interactive installations, including selfie stations, photo opportunities, lawn games, and pop-up performances.
Collaborating with organizations sharing the vision of a welcoming and lively Grand Connection corridor, the city seeks to expand public space initiatives as transit options, like the Sound Transit 2 Line, continue to drive development in downtown Bellevue. The food truck dining program is one of several activations scheduled under the Grand Connection program, which aims to create cohesive and memorable public spaces throughout downtown.
Other projects along the corridor include the expansion of Meydenbauer Bay Park and enhanced programming such as the Bellevue Downtown Association’s Beats and Bites music series. The Grand Connection Crossing over I-405 is another significant feature of this initiative.
“The Grand Connection isn’t just about the new projects we’re going to build together,” said Jesse Canedo, chief economic development officer. Parts of it are here right now. We invite you to come downtown and help us create the Grand Connection together.”
