Bellevue Police are seeking the public’s help to identify juveniles involved in a deliberate hit-and-run on a bicyclist Saturday evening in Bellevue’s Clyde Hill.

Officers responded to an incident on the 9500 block of Lake Washington Boulevard NE. Witnesses reported that a silver Hyundai Elantra, occupied by juveniles, intentionally entered the bike lane and struck a 13-year-old who was cycling home from a nearby park.

Witnesses stated the juveniles targeted the victim, swerving the vehicle towards them. Prior to the collision, the juveniles allegedly threw a black Puma shoe at the bicyclist and yelled at them.

The injured bicyclist was taken to Overlake Hospital for treatment of serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was discharged the same day. The bicycle sustained significant damage.

The driver of the vehicle was described as a young female with short black hair. Although there were other occupants in the car, their descriptions were not provided. The silver Hyundai Elantra was noted to have a red/black sunshade.

Bellevue Police urge residents and witnesses to come forward if they have any information or saw a silver Hyundai Elantra in Bellevue around 8:00 p.m. Any details about the suspects are crucial for the investigation into potential charges of Assault 2nd Degree and Malicious Mischief 3rd Degree. Witnesses can contact law enforcement by calling 425-577-5656 or emailing Detective Jeff Disney at jdisney@bellevuewa.gov.
