Each incident involved a young male driving a silver/gray BMW sedan without a license plate, performing burnouts on the artwork, with one occurrence taking place in broad daylight.July 14, 2024: At approximately 10:12 p.m., traffic camera footage captured a suspect executing a 720-degree burnout in a counterclockwise direction over the Pride art piece at the intersection of NE 1st Street and 102nd Avenue NE. After completing the burnout, the suspect sped eastbound on NE 1st Street. The estimated damage was approximately $3,200.September 7, 2024: Around 4:27 p.m., another incident was recorded in which the suspect performed a burnout on the Pride art piece while driving through traffic with the windows down and pedestrians in the crosswalk. The suspect exited the area heading westbound on NE 1st Street. This incident caused an estimated $5,000 in damages.September 15, 2024: At approximately 7:57 p.m., the suspect was again seen executing a 720-degree burnout in a counterclockwise direction across the intersection. He then sped off eastbound on NE 1st Street. The estimated damage from this incident was about $5,337.Law enforcement is urging anyone with information about these incidents or the suspect to contact Crimestoppers of Puget Sound at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
