Kevin M. Sampson, 36, was arrested by the Bellevue Police Department (BPD) on September 19 while trying to retrieve his impounded grey GMC SUV. He is accused of committing multiple residential burglaries in the Bellevue area between July 16 and September 19, targeting homes while residents slept. Victims reported stolen items, including firearms, designer purses, and credit cards.
Sampson allegedly entered homes through unlocked windows and doors, sometimes returning to the same locations to commit further thefts. Law enforcement linked him to several burglaries using security footage, including incidents on N.E. 15th Street (July 16), N.E. 13th Street (August 20), S.E. 58th Place (September 14), and 171st Avenue S.E. (September 19).
Following a burglary attempt on September 19, police spotted a vehicle matching Sampson’s and pursued it. The driver abandoned the SUV, which contained stolen items, including credit cards and designer purses. Sampson was arrested at the police station later that day.
He faces multiple charges, including six counts of residential burglary and two counts of identity theft. Before these incidents, Sampson had a criminal history involving indecent exposure and an attempted kidnapping.
Sampson has been charged with 14 felonies and remains in custody on a $160,000 bond. The Bellevue Police Department advises residents to secure their homes by locking doors and windows and arming security systems.
