The Bellevue Collection will be hosting a Diwali celebration at Bellevue Square, featuring a live event on November 2 and various displays available from November 1 to November 10. Diwali marks a festival of lights and the beginning of a new year.
This joyous occasion focuses on happiness and prosperity, making it one of India’s most significant celebrations. Following the lunar calendar, Diwali typically spans five days and is filled with traditions such as family gatherings, lighting clay lamps, decorating with floral arrangements and rangoli, feasting on sweets, and worshipping Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth.
The celebration at Bellevue Square will include several displays. A rangoli display will be featured on the first level, showcasing intricate designs created from sand by talented artists from the Seattle Maharashtra Mandal community. This installation will highlight the traditional craft of rangoli, adding to the festive atmosphere.
Additionally, saris will be on display throughout the first level of Bellevue Square highlighting traditional garments worn during celebrations including Diwali, also presented by the Seattle Maharashtra Mandal community.
For those looking to capture memories, the Diwali Pop Spot in Center Court will provide a location for photos, encouraging visitors to engage with the celebration interactively.
On November 2, the live performances will take place in Center Court from noon to 5 PM. Attendees can enjoy a variety of performances, including dance, visual arts, and music, bringing the spirit of Diwali to life.
Complimentary henna designs will be available from 11 AM to 6 PM, provided by a SARAHENNA Organic Body Art artist.
