Design Review approval has been granted for the demolition of the former Silver Cloud Hotel in Bellevue to make way for a seven-story mixed-use residential development at 10621 NE 12th Street. The new project will include 230 apartment units spread across two buildings. The development will also feature below-grade parking, providing approximately 198 parking stalls.
The project is planned to be completed in a single phase.
The current site, which is 1.23 acres in size, is developed as a hotel with a surface parking lot. The hotel has ceased operations and is now used for transitional housing for Mary’s Place, an interim use approved by the city. The new development will replace the existing hotel and parking lot.
The project also includes a 3,000-square-foot outdoor plaza at the corner of NE 12th Street and 106th Place NE. The plaza will feature urban landscaping, outdoor café seating, and benches. Sculptural artwork will line the sidewalk, with a larger sculpture located at the corner of the plaza. The artwork will extend south along 106th Place NE, leading pedestrians to the Through Block Connection at the Brizo project.
Additionally, rooftop amenity space will be provided for residents.
Fora Landscape Architects is currently working on the project, bringing their expertise in sustainable design and creative outdoor spaces to the development.
The design, as outlined in the 2021 Land Use application by SRM Development, includes two residential buildings connected by an underground parking structure. The development is intended to contribute to a dynamic urban environment in the City Center North area of Downtown Bellevue, with a focus on dense housing, landscaping, and open space.
SRM Development purchased the Silver Cloud Inn for $30 million. The site currently contains 40,642 square feet of developed building area.
