The Bellevue Chamber of Commerce will host the 5th Annual Eastside Real Estate Symposium on Thursday, April 3, from 7:30 to 10:00 a.m. at the Meydenbauer Center in Bellevue. This event will bring together key developers, industry experts, economists, policy leaders, and real estate brokers to discuss the ongoing growth and challenges in Eastside real estate.

The symposium’s agenda includes several important panels addressing current issues in the region’s real estate market. One panel, titled “For the Love of God, We Need Housing,” will explore the role that religious properties in the city could play in the development of affordable housing. These properties, which are often underutilized, present opportunities to address the region’s critical housing shortage.

Another panel, “Permits, Politics, & Prices: Why Multifamily Projects Stall,” will examine the barriers to multifamily housing development. As the demand for affordable housing increases, panelists will discuss the hurdles developers face in moving projects from planning to construction, including zoning issues, political obstacles, and rising costs.

The “Empty Chairs at Empty Tables” panel will focus on the evolving office space market. With shifts in the way people work, particularly due to the pandemic, demand for office spaces has fluctuated. This panel will provide an update on the current state of the office market and explore potential future trends.

In addition to these discussions, the event will feature a keynote address from James Bach, Senior Vice President at CBRE, who will provide insights into the Eastside’s real estate climate and its future growth potential. Attendees will also hear from Joe Fain, who will offer an update on developments in the Wilburton area, a neighborhood that is seeing significant changes.

The 5th Annual Eastside Real Estate Symposium presents a key opportunity for real estate professionals and others interested in the region’s growth to network and stay informed on key trends. Tickets for the event are available now.
