Peloton, known for its interactive exercise bikes and fitness classes, has closed its store at Bellevue Square. The showroom, located on the second level between Market Optical and Psycho Bunny, first opened in 2019 and featured Peloton’s stationary bike, treadmill, and apparel.
This closure is part of Peloton’s broader effort to cut costs and streamline operations. Since August 2022, the company has been shutting down many of its retail locations across the U.S.
While several stores closed in 2024, more showrooms have followed in 2025, according to Peloton. Recent closures include locations in Santa Monica Place, Westfield UTC in San Diego, Valley Fair in Santa Clara, Park Meadows in Colorado, Legacy Place in Massachusetts, Somerset in Michigan, and Bellevue Square.
These closures reflect Peloton’s ongoing strategy to reassess its retail presence. Despite shutting down stores, the company is also exploring new retail concepts to better serve its customers, like kiosks in shopping centers.
Taking over Peloton’s former space at Bellevue Square is Bluemercury, a luxury beauty retailer owned by Macy’s. Bluemercury offers high-end skincare, makeup, haircare, fragrance, and beauty tools, focusing on quality and longevity over short-term trends.
According to signage at the location, Bluemercury is set to open soon, though an exact date has not been announced.
