Rouge Cocktail Lounge on Main Street in Bellevue

Rouge Cocktail Lounge, an entertainment establishment in Old Bellevue, has announced it will permanently close. The final day of operations will be Thursday, March 27.

The decision was shared through a statement posted on their Instagram account, where the owners reflected on their journey and expressed gratitude toward their customers.

The statement read: “After six years of building Rouge from the ground up, we have made the decision to accept an offer for another business to thrive in the space. Our journey began in the midst of the pandemic, which created a unique challenge, but in time the community revived our spirits to reach our goals. We took pride in our specialty drinks, honored twice as ‘Best Cocktail Lounge’ in Bellevue. It brought us happiness to provide a platform for local artists to perform in a sophisticated speakeasy atmosphere and our skilled bartenders to display their talents.”

“We leave embracing all of the memorable stories our patrons have expressed. It is with that gratitude we bid adieu, merci beaucoup!”

“Please join us this week to toast to our farewell!”

Rouge first opened its doors in November 2021 under the ownership of Mary and Chris Kenney. The lounge was known for its curated cocktail menu. It also served as a venue for local artists, featuring a designated performance area with a vintage piano for live music.

The venue’s design was influenced by Art Deco aesthetics, with plush banquette seating, a marble-backed bar, and a gold ceiling that contributed to a speakeasy ambiance. The cocktail lounge drew inspiration from French and New Orleans-style influences, both in décor and menu offerings, which included small plates, shareables, and desserts.

Rouge Cocktail Lounge occupied the space that was previously home to Diamond Inc., a jewelry shop.

  1. Went twice. Bad experience both times. Far better options within walking distance.

  2. I’m sad to see Rouge go.
Old Main is my neighborhood, and it was a stand out!

  3. Yeah it was $ even for old bellevue.

  4. I went once, sadly it was very disappointing – food was terrible, service was slow and they even forgot one of our dishes. Loved the decor but sadly that was the only standout. Hopefully the new business can offer a better experience.
