Bellevue’s beauty and wellness scene just got a new addition with the grand opening of Joon by Joe Bae, a luxury head spa designed to bring tranquility, scalp care, and relaxation to the Downtown area. Behind this new venture is Joe Bae, a seasoned beauty industry professional and the owner of Joe Bae Salon in Old Bellevue.
“I’ve been in the beauty industry since 2010,” Joe shares. “Through the years, I’ve learned a lot, but I’m still growing. My passion lies in creating spaces that feel welcoming—not just for clients, but for the incredible teams that work there. Culture is everything. When our team feels supported, that positive energy naturally flows to our clients.”
Joe’s journey in Bellevue began when he took over an existing salon a decade ago. Since then, Joe Bae Salon has evolved into a trusted destination for expert cuts and color. “We’re incredibly grateful to celebrate our 10-year anniversary this year,” he says. “And we’re even more excited to launch Joon, Bellevue’s very first luxury head spa.”
Joon marks Joe’s second storefront, and its concept is a unique experience from traditional salon services. “At our head spa, we focus entirely on scalp care and relaxation,” he explains. “There are no cuts or coloring here—just restorative treatments designed to make you feel your best.”
The idea for the head spa came from Joe’s wife, Allison, who introduced him to the concept while he was exploring the idea of opening a barbershop. “I wasn’t really into the spa idea at first,” he laughs. “But once I started researching, I realized there weren’t many places like this around. We saw an opportunity to build something unique—a luxury experience that’s still cozy and approachable.”
Joon by Joe Bae offers three levels of service: Essential, Signature, and Luxe. Each treatment includes a pre- and post-scalp analysis along with a professional blow dry. The difference lies in the amount of spa time, giving clients the freedom to choose how deeply they want to relax.
To celebrate its grand opening, Joon is offering a 25% discount on all services now through April 19. The launch event, held on April 5, welcomed the community to experience this new kind of self-care firsthand.
