Throughout November, Bellden Cafe and the Downtown Bellevue Network are partnering to collect essential baby items for Renewal Food Bank, a nonprofit organization that provides food and other necessary supplies to Bellevue families in need.
Donations of baby essentials such as diapers (sizes 4-7), baby wipes, formula, and other critical items can be dropped off at Bellden Cafe, where a designated donation box will be available. The items will then be distributed by Renewal Food Bank to families in the area.
For individuals who are unable to donate physical items, monetary donations can also be made online through the Renewal Food Bank website at PayPal Donation Link.
About Renewal Food Bank
Renewal Food Bank, located at 15022 Bel-Red Road in Bellevue, offers grocery-style food assistance and essential hygiene products to those in need. The organization serves a wide variety of customers and works to support families by providing relief from food insecurity and other financial pressures.
The food bank operates on a model where clients can shop once a week without needing an appointment. Clients are given line numbers 30 minutes before opening, and the shopping experience is designed to allow individuals to choose the food and supplies they need, including fresh produce, meats, shelf-stable groceries, pet food, and hygiene items.
The demand for services at Renewal Food Bank has significantly increased. Since September 2022, the number of families served has increased by over 60%, now reaching around 500 families each week. The food bank also saw nearly 1,000 new families register in 2023 alone.
How to Get Involved
Community members are encouraged to participate in this important community initiative by donating baby items at Bellden Cafe during November. Monetary donations can also be made directly through the Renewal Food Bank website.
