David Lawrence concludes Bellevue Fashion Week with 400 Friends!

The line ran from Fashion Axis all way down Northeast 8th Street. It was still a little before 7.00pm. The line would continue for another 30 minutes. Had Apple opened a new store? Hardly. With fashion week winding down in downtown Bellevue, there was only one way to end what most will call a successful second year for this event: the David Lawrence Fall Fashion Spectacular. At the end all will agree, the music was great, the models were hot, and the clothes…amazing! As for the guests? Beautiful to say the least…The event was packed and roughly 400 tickets were sold with all proceeds going to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

If you missed it, you missed out. Guests enjoyed martinis and champagne before the show commenced; a great fashion show; and an afterparty back at David Lawrence in Bellevue Square where guests were served drinks and snacks. Needless to say, the place was packed and people were shopping!

While the night’s event was grand, the Downtown Bellevue Network sat down with David, the owner and founder of David Lawrence, the night before to talk fashion!

db: When did this all get started – David Lawrence?
DL: We opened the Bellevue store in 1994, so yes, we’re a downtown Bellevue-based company. And a year later we opened in Seattle.

db: For those who don’t know about David Lawrence, how would you explain it to them?

DL: David Lawrence is a great value in the world of designer clothing. We provide affordable designer fashions.

db: Who picks out the clothes?

DL: Well, I’ve been to New York three times in the last two month and both my wife and I pick out all the clothes ourselves. I choose the men’s line and she the women’s.

db: What’s the most expensive item you’ve ever carried?

DL: We once had a fur coat for $4950.

db: What’s your clientelle like?

DL: You know we don’t get the CEO. I mean we have some, but mostly our clientelle comprises of those on their way to being the CEO.

db: What’s so great about being in downtown Bellevue, specifically in the Square?

DL: Well, Kemper really cares about this place. We love being here and we have no plans to leave. Kemper cares about the mall and the surrounding areas. The growth we’re seeing is fantastic! It’s going to be good for everyone.

Home Comfort Alliance 300 x 250 - March 2026

db: What are you wearing today?

DL: Hugo Boss, Sling & Stone.

db: Did you parttake in Fashion Week last year and what do you think about this year?

DL: Yes, this is our second year in the show. This year has been great. And our show is going to be amazing!

If you haven’t been to David Lawrence, we recommend you definitely pay it a visit. The clothing is great, the service is wonderful and you can tell they definitely know a thing or two about fashion.

David – We wish you a wonderful fall season.
