The Downtown Bellevue Blockbuster on Bellevue Way will be closing on July 14th. A new location will then reappear on Main St & 106th in October, where the old “Far Fetched Furniture” once was.

Sunday night was the last night to rent movies from Downtown Bellevue Blockbuster’s current location. All movies currently checked out must be returned by July 14th.

All remaining movies at the location are currently for sale. Lucky for us, there are many other digital and movie-by-mail alternatives. There isn’t as much of a need for brick and mortar stores as in the past, but it is still nice to see that they will continue to have a presence in Downtown Bellevue in a couple of months.

  1. More details please. I am assuming it’s due to lease and new construction going up in that location?.

  2. AvalonBay Communities is going to start construction this September on a two tower apartment project.
Blockbuster, along with the current Orvis store next door and the small lowrise stripmall building behind it which housed Serenity Spa, Moghul Palace, and Desert Sun tanning have all been displaced to make way for this new complex. There are some renderings on the Skycrapercity forums. It’s going to be a great looking project, 23 and 13 floors with a bunch of retail space along Bellevue Way.

  3. Another overpriced apartment complex? Do we need more of those in Bellevue?

  4. What is going to happen to Cost Plus World Market? It’s my favorite store and I don’t want to see it go away.

  5. Your post is worthless without a link to the rendering.
