Last week a draft master plan for the new waterfront park that is planned for Meydenbauer Bay was presented to the City of Bellevue Council last week. (See Master Plan here)
The City of Bellevue plans to create a 10-acre park, which would use waterfront lots that have been acquired over the years by the city. The park would span from Meydenbauer Beach Park to Bellevue Marina at Meydenbauer Park. According to the city’s plan another initiative of the park would be improved walkways and plazas connecting Downtown to the park.
A steering committee, which was appointed by the council, drafted the plan and recommendations. After the Parks Board reviews the plan it is expected to go to the City Council for review and adoption this spring. No construction schedule has currently been identified, nor did they release a timeline for the park.
The City of Bellevue completed their last purchase of property: 1.5 acres on Meydenbauer Bay for $9.5 million in August 7, 2007 (see article here).
