  1. I might sound a little harsh here… that blog is completely useless and it’s just an advertising ploy.

This is the blogger Tami Elwin’s position: Assistant Investment Manager at Schnitzer West · Real Estate.

I really would love an objective blog on Bravern – sharing sales, deals, great finds with all of us, instead of this advertising garbage.

For exmaple, several Bravern shops are having (or had) some wonderful sales in January, but none of it is blogged or even mentioned in the blogs. I wonder whether Ms. Elwin has even been to Bravern this month….

  2. @Kevin This is no different than the Bellevue Collection’s blog:

    http://www.bellevuecollection.com/belles_vue/index.php

It’s understood that it’s going to have The Bravern’s best interest in mind, but it’s not trying to be deceitful so I don’t see any problem with it. I assume it’s targeted at a certain demographic that visits their site and shopping center.

  3. I’ve visit both blogs (Bellevue Collection & Bravern) and have found value in a few posts from both. It’s not to say that every post is going to be ground breaking, but I think it’s a nice forum for them to be able to interact with readers.

  4. Kevin,

Thanks for your feedback on our blog. As the marketing manager, I started the blog for The Shops at The Bravern as a way to share posts about food, fashion, beauty, interesting tips, shoes – even ponies. In addition to introducing other blogs, we hope it will be a way to introduce people to our brands, many of which are new to the market.

Thanks for the feedback regarding sales. I’ve actually been working on a post for today about our sales and a few tips to consider when shopping this time of year! However, this feedback has inspired me to consider some additional options for sharing this information in the future.

You asked if I’ve been to The Bravern. I actually work here – in an office in the parking garage, not all that glamorous, but it works. I get the chance to chat with the managers on a daily basis. They’ve given us some great ideas to share, which is where most of the inspiration for the blog comes from.

I appreciate your feedback. I want to write things people want to read about. We are always trying different ways to engage with our visitors and the community, so thank you again for the candid feedback.

    Best,
    Tami

  5. A blog always takes a life of its own after a few months. I think it’s great you guys have launched this, and I look forward to seeing what it evolves into.

  6. Tami, good luck with your new blog. Please resist the urge/pressure to put the property management’s interests ahead of your readers and you will do well.

Michael & Tami, you should have a weekly digest of other Bellevue-related blog posts in your respective blogs. I periodically forget to check on some blogs – and wouldn’t want to miss out on a great story. And it helps with your SEO juice as well!

  7. Looking forward to the BLOG Tami! We like offers, happenings, events and deals. Any new retailers coming soon?

    Matt

  8. A “blog” written by a corporate flack isn’t a real blog, it’s a marketing website. As long as people realize this, that’s fine. But don’t go to this “blog” expecting straight down the middle info. It’s like asking the consierge if there are any other good hotels in the area.

    Hi Matt,

We should have a couple of announcements coming very soon – one within the next week or so. I’ll make sure to keep Michael in the loop so he can update everyone here. Thanks for the support.

    Tami

  10. I like the bravern blog so I can see what’s going on there!
