Cocktail aficionados have another reason to crowd the bar at Lot No. 3 – they’ve developed a custom bourbon blend that’s now being poured. Part of a special workshop at Cast Iron Studios, working with renowned distiller Angel’s Envy, small teams were tasked to create their own whiskeys. The creations were judged and the winning blend was sent to Angel’s Envy to go into production for an entire barrel. Aptly titled, The Victor’s Blend, this custom-blended bourbon is arriving in bottles, just in time to raise a cocktail glass for the holidays.
The Victor’s Blend is portwood-aged rye bourbon, described by Lot No. 3 as having, “the rich, full nose we associate with Angel’s Envy, minus the robust fruit. On the palate, it is weighty and round, with extraordinary spice throughout that continues into a long, rewarding finish.” It’s encouraged to sample it with Angel’s Envy, to compare the two, but don’t wait too long – only a single barrel was made of the Victor’s Blend, and much like the “angel’s share” that evaporates from an aging spirit, when it’s gone, it’s gone!
