Hokkaido Ramen Santouka - BellevueEmerald City Smoothie closed in the fall of 2013 at Bellevue Way and NE 1st St. The space has stayed vacant ever since. Outside of the boarded up windows are signs advertising a new ramen restaurant, Hokkaido Ramen Santouka. Hokkaido is a chain restaurant that has locations in many Asian countries as well as within the US and Canada. This will be their 10th restaurant in the US, and first in Washington state.

There is no opening time table suggested, but the signage encourages those interested in applying for jobs to send in their resume.

  1. Two Ramen places suddenly open like a block from each other. That’s interesting. I like Ramen.

  2. The opening timeframe for the Bellevue Santouka is Spring according to its website.

  3. should be lines out the door. not.

  4. I can go to any asian grocery store and get the same ramen for cheap….

  5. This is the best ramen. Ate here about a zillion times when I lived in LA. Every time I went back to LA I ate here. I just ate at one 2 hours ago in San Jose. The lines are worth it. I wish it would have been in Bellevue when I was living there.

  6. This blows samurai out of the water. Kukai is good but Santouka is incredible. Check out yelp photos. You won’t find better ramen in the Seattle area when it gets here. You guys are in for a treat!
