UNIQLO has announced in a release that they are expanding to Bellevue within the new expansion space previously occupied by JC Penny’s. The Japanese chain offers unique basic wear a, such as jeans, T-shirts and sweaters.UNIQLO offers a few styles in many colors at affordable prices.

“We are honored to be selected as the site for their first retail location in our region,” says Jennifer Leavitt, Vice President of Marketing, The Bellevue Collection.

The brand, UNIQLO has an obsessive cult following. The clothing powerhouse founded by Tadashi Yanai, who with an estimated fortune, according to Forbes, is Japan’s richest man, with a fortune of $21.4 billion. The company employs 30,448 people worldwide.

As part of U.S. expansion plans, Japanese casual apparel retailer UNIQLO announced the opening a 13,000-square-foot store at The Bellevue Collection this coming fall, its first in the Seattle area. The company will also be expanding Boston, Chicago, Denver and Washington D.C within the U.S.

UNIQLO has a large presence in Asia as well as France, Germany, the U.K. and Russia. Presently, in the U.S., it has thirty nine stores in the Northeast and California.
