According to Puget Sound Business Journal, Amazon is most likely the buyer of a downtown Bellevue property, located on 108th Avenue Northeast. This would be the first purchase that Amazon has made on the Eastside, although they are leasing over one million square feet of office space in Bellevue.

Eastdil Secured, the listing agent for Bellevue Corporate Plaza, is marketing the 10-story property. According to reports, there are multiple buyers interested, including Tishman Speyer and Hudson Pacific Properties.

Equity Commonwealth, the current owner of the building, has been planning a two-tower project, Bellevue 600, for the property. It includes a 450-foot office building along with a hotel. Both would be built on a podium that would also include retail and parking, along with a garage that is inclusive of 2,000 parking stalls. The real estate investment company also owns Tower 333 that Amazon will begin leasing in 2020. Expedia is currently headquartered there.

The Seattle office of NBBJ is the architect for Bellevue 600. John Thomas, NBBJ Principal, applied to the city for pre-development service. The City Development Services office has not discussed any scenarios with potential developers or other groups interested in the property at this time.

  1. rumor has it Amazon is opening a recruiting office in the 333 retail space… while expedia is still there. ๐Ÿ˜‰ this would let them walk new expedia -> amazon new hires across the street to start working for them easier and then they can re-expand back into 333 when the space is theirs by continuing more hiring. ๐Ÿ˜‰
